Asbestos management trainer led course
What is the course and what does it include?
A course aimed at those responsible for managing the risks associated with asbestos in buildings and associated plant, thereby ensuring the health and safety of maintenance workers and others, who may encounter asbestos in the workplace*.
On successful completion of the course delegates will be aware of the health and safety issues associated with asbestos, therefore significantly reducing the risk to users of the premises. Familiarisation with both material and priority algorithmic assessment is incorporated as part of the management plan.
The course includes:
✓ Nature of asbestos
✓ What health concerns are related to asbestos?
✓ Who is at risk?
✓ Historical overview
✓ Asbestos uses- where is it found in buildings?
✓ Five stages of asbestos management: looking for asbestos, material and priority algorithms, deciding if there is a problem, deciding what action needs to be taken, recording the findings, taking action and reviewing the assessment.
The course duration is half a day.
*Please note: This course is not intended to equip delegates with the specialist knowledge needed to conduct the removal of items such as asbestos insulation, coatings, and insulation board. That work is governed by strict regulations for which specialist licenses and other recognised accreditation is required.
