HAVS awareness and advice course

Hand Arm Vibration Syndrome (HAVS) is the collective term covering a number of potentially serious injuries, of which vibration white finger (VWF) is the most commonly recognised.
There are a number of factors that contribute to the development of HAVS, and steps should be taken to reduce the risk where elimination is not possible. Including ensuring your employees are aware of the risks of HAVS and how they can reduce them.

This course is now also available as one of our new remote video link trainer led courses.

What is the course and what does it include?
The course is designed to make attendees aware of HAVS and provide advice on how to reduce the risks involved, it includes:
✓ What are HAVS?
✓ The effects of excessive vibration on the body
✓ The causes of HAVS
✓ How to reduce the risk
✓ The combination of the Tool/Consumable and its potential effect on vibration
✓ Where to find vibration data for tools and machines
✓ The HSE points system and how to use it
✓ The Exposure Action Value (EAV)
✓ The Exposure Limit Value (ELV)

What will your employees receive? Why ABTAC?

Attendees will receive an engaging training course from a passionate trainer, where all of the relevant knowledge will be imparted. All attendees will receive a certificate of attendance.

What type of HAVS awareness courses are available?
Private courses
ABTAC prides itself on ensuring that each private course we provide is tailored to your employee’s needs, ensuring that the course is as relevant as possible. Private courses can be tailored to focus on the specific risks arising from using the machines that you do. The only way to fully ensure this is for your employees to attend a private course. Private courses can take place at your site or another site of your choice, thus reducing your employees travel time. For a quote and more information please complete the form on this page.

The course can be combined with HAVS testing services and consultancy.
What's the cost?
Costs for private courses vary dependent on: number of overall attendees, number of attendees you wish to have on each course. Generally the more attendees per course, the lower the cost per attendee. For more information or an individual course please complete the form on this page or email [email protected].
Equal opportunities
We welcome attendees of all abilities and backgrounds, however currently all of our courses are only conducted in English.

Trainer led virtual courses now available

To comply with the government social distancing guidelines, ABTAC now offer remote trainer led courses. These courses run in the same way as our standard trainer led courses but using Microsoft Teams video conferencing software. As with all of our trainer led courses, attendees will receive an engaging training course from a passionate trainer, where all of the relevant knowledge will be imparted, and a certificate on successful completion.
