Manual handling online training (approved by IIRSM and CPD)

Manual handling awareness training should be provided to anyone who may be involved in their day to day work (from picking and packing in a warehouse, or handling products in a factory, to carrying everyday objects in an office). That's pretty much everyone of your employees- including yourself.

Almost 40% of reported industrial injuries involve manual handling. Intrinsically workplaces involve a considerable amount of lifting and moving.

The Manual Operations Regulations 1992 require employers to avoid the necessity of employees having to undertake manual handling work. Where this is not possible a suitable and sufficient risk assessment must be made and suitable steps taken to reduce the risk of injury.
What is the course and what does it include?
The course is an IIRSM and CPD approved online video based training course with 6 modules:
✓ What is Manual Handling?
✓ Manual Handling Regulations
✓ Safe Handling
✓ Learning Safe Handling Habits
✓ Practical Manual Handling Solutions
✓ Use of Mechanical Aids
Each module is explained clearly in plain English through video, and has a short test at the end of each module with a 75% pass rate. The course takes on average 75 minutes.

The course is a great way to improve manual handling awareness, especially for: managers, supervisors, and employees who don't perform significant manual handling (for example office workers), and as a refresher to those who have previously received a trainer led manual handling course.

Note:  For employees who perform significant manual handing activities (for example factory and stores/warehouse workers), who have not received a trainer led manual handling awareness training course, we recommend taking one of our trainer led manual handling awareness courses. Our trainer led training courses can be adapted to meet your specific needs.
